I'm not a great cook. So why am I making a blog about cooking?.... That, my friend, is a very good question! One that I am not yet 100% sure about myself. I do know this: Over the past year, after we moved across the world to Australia I discovered, I do, in fact, like to cook! Especially at first, when I was not working, had no friends, I didn't even knew how to get myself around town, for that matter, so having dinner on the table was my main accomplishment of the day! Over the past 9 months I have been collecting and writing down the "successful" recipes I've made. The first month or 2 these were few and far between- just ask my husband!! The more and more I cook, the better I have become, but I think what I really have going for me is my ability to discover really amazing recipes-- none of which, I come up with myself :)
I like recipes that are very delicious (obviously), not too complicated, are relatively healthy (or at least not super high in fat), include ingredients that I have heard of and can possibly use again, and recipes that are unique enough so that I don't feel like we are constantly eating the same meals. All of these qualifications make it difficult to find recipes to include in our very exclusive (only the best!) King family cookbook! The meal also has to get the approval of the whole family (although, Brody is quite easy to please). I also really enjoy coming up with great ways to use our leftovers! If you are like my family (2 plus a dog), you constantly have heaps of leftover filled tupperware containers taking over the fridge. So I hope to also incorporate some great ideas for your leftovers, as well!
As I start this blog I will go through this exclusive King's Cookbook and share our most favorite meals, capturing pictures (hopefully decent, as I am no photographer) of the deliciousness as I go! Enjoy!!!
